All tenants will have started receiving notification of the rent increase from 28th March 2026.
We would like to thank everyone who responded to the consultation. Feedback on the consultation responses and our next steps can be found here.
What you should do next:
- Rent paid by Standing Order – Tenants must ensure they increase their next standing order amount in time for payment due on or before 28th March.
- Rent paid by Direct Debit – for those who pay rent only, this will be increased automatically. If paying an arrangement to arrears, your Housing Officer will be in touch to discuss a new Direct Debit amount.
- Rent paid by Housing Benefit – claimants do not need to do anything as we have sent info to East Dunbartonshire Council.
- Rent paid by Universal Credit – all claimants will receive a ‘To Do’ on their journal on 1st April asking for their new rent – they must complete this with the figure in the rent notification letter. Please do not try to update rent before this date as this will not be approved by our team.
If you are experiencing financial difficulties please contact us - we have our Welfare Rights Team and Tenancy Support Officer who can assist with benefit checks, budgeting advice, and general wellbeing support.
Please call your Housing Officer on 0141 587 0200 to discuss making a referral.
